The Renagade: Purposeful Satire
This is the Renaissance Renagade, a satirical publication by the students of Springfield Renaissance. Satire is fiction writing that mimics the style of a news story, exaggerating the truth to make us question our world. The stories in this publication are all made up, but they are making fun of real things we are dealing with in our world, which they link to. Please enjoy it, and also think about it!

The Misinfopedia
Did Obama curse out Trump on video? Do we live in different worlds? Who makes money from our social media addiction? Can we tell people from bots? Is fake news destroying society?
The Misinfopedia are informational articles by MS Digital Literacy students at Springfield Renaissance. Topics were drawn from the documentary Trust Me, on Kanopy.
Ask Safety Sam(antha)
Ever since the Pandemic "quarantine", many students have moved far more deeply into into the virtual worlds of social media than may be healthy for their mental health.
What do you do when you look around and all you see are mirrors with like buttons? Read our Safety Sam(antha) advice column and get help from your peers (and the news articles they find to answer your questions)!
Misinfo or Not?
Did Obama curse out Trump on video? Did Florida outlaw the teaching of social justice? Can you print out human organs? "Misinfo or Not" is a simulated social media feed made by fourth quarter Digital Literacy students.
Each post on the SimFeed leads to an article, which leads to a source article. See if you can tell, just from the post, whether to believe the story.
